As part of my Fashion Promotion degree, during my 3rd year I have a year out where I intern for a year in the exciting but terrifying world that is the fashion industry! To say it I was nervous for my placement year was an understatement! All that kept running through my head was 'why would anyone pick me when there are so many other people out there who are better than me?'
Fast forward 8 months and I am now nearly 3 months into my internship, so I thought I'd share some tips on how to find an internship and how to cope with the nerves etc... (pre warning, this post may go on a bit...so grab a cuppa!)

A few days ago we officially transitioned in to Autumn and I honestly couldn't be happier! Although in England we don't always experience the perfect Autumn season, with 'grey' and 'rain' featuring far too regularly on the weather report, it means we can all drink too many pumpkin spice latte's and trade Saturday nights in the club with our sofa, a Chinese, blankets and XFactor instead! YES!
Reason No. 86 on why Autumn is a fabulous season: THE JACKETS!
Suede made a massive impact on the catwalk this year and as we head into a new season, these beautiful pieces are still bang on trend and a key staple for your wardrobe!
Weather it's a fringed biker layered over a roll-neck jumper or a longline mac teamed with the perfect ankle boots, you need to add one of these baby's to your basket...pronto!

WAHOOOOOO it's payday!!! I have literally been counting down the minutes this month...I've definitely treated myself to one too many Zara purchases in the past few weeks!
Oh well...time to blow it all again on these fab pieces! - There seems to be a bit of a monochrome theme going on here, which I very much like! In my opinion, simple - classic pieces always look sophisticated and fashionable and you don't end up hating half of your wardrobe that you bought last month, to try and fit in to a trend that lasted 5 minutes!
I've been listening to The Weeknd ever since a friend introduced me to the song 'Twenty Eight' during a pattern cutting class at college.
R&B is one of my favourite genre's of music (although overall my music taste is definitely...eclectic) and when I heard his mysterious, almost angelic voice flowing through the speakers I knew that I'd become a fan of this guy.
Fast forward 3 years and I am currently in love with his latest album release - Beauty Behind The Madness!!
F a v o u r i t e T r a c k s :
Like any album I listen to, after having it on repeat for the past week, I'm slowly starting to skip certain songs and look for my favourites, which are:
- Angel
- Acquainted
- Often
- Tell Your Friends
- In The Night
C o l l a b o r a t i o n s :
When an artist which I'm a fan of releases a new album, I'm always eager to see what collaborations feature on the record as, for me anyway, it is always exciting when it is with another artist who you also love!
- Losers (Featuring Labrinth)
- Dark Times (Featuring Ed Sheeran)
- Prisoner (Featuring Lana Del Rey)
- Tell Your Friends (Produced by Kanye West)
I am just completely hooked on this album and it has been the soundtrack to my life for the past week! Although the story behind the album is definitely no reflection on my life as a fashion student and intern in the North West ha!
Let me know what songs your loving at the moment and your opinions on the album!

It's payday!!!! Which only means one thing... opening all the bookmarked tabs from the past month and deciding what we can treat ourselves to (realistically!). I have a tendency to bookmark things that are WAY out of my budget and would take me approximately 37 months to save up for, (the Stella McCartney bag) which I don't recommend doing because it just makes you feel like life won't go on without that the bag....I NEED IT. Sorry, anyway, here is my August payday wish list!
Have a fab bank holiday weekend - no work on Monday wahooooo!

Long gone are the days where we flick through the latest issue of Vogue and shed a tear (it's hayfever i swear...) at how far apart our lives seem from those within the ad campaigns.
